It is my greatest hope to help others by sharing my journey from my Asperger's Syndrome diagnosis to awakening to my soul's purpose. My neurological differences heightens my sensitivity which is how I came to realize that I am an Empathic Intuitive Healer. Navigating life on the Autism Spectrum can be lonely and often confusing . I wish to share my gifts and encouragement with all of you.
Here's the corrected version of your text:
"There is nothing simple about autism, and a diagnosis is not made in a lab test. The phrase Autism Spectrum Disorder or ASD is just that—a vast spectrum of characteristics, behaviors, neurological difficulties, as well as exceptional knowledge, skills, and abilities. I've always liked the phrase 'If you've met one person with autism, you've met one person with autism.'
So, my story is just that—my story of the challenges I have experienced and what my mom and I have learned together. I love helping people on the spectrum and their families. Autism doesn't just affect one person; the whole family is impacted. I was lucky my aunt had Down Syndrome and Asperger's. It gave my mom on-the-job training her whole life, which helped her be a great mom and best friend to me.
Another quote I'd like to share that has been most helpful is, 'Labels are for soup cans.' While my diagnosis at the age of 17 helped my mom and me understand why I had so many struggles my whole life, I don't believe any label defines who you are. The most powerful force in the universe is love, and our saving grace has been our sense of humor. Laughter and love have brought me to a place where I am ready to share my story! Each one of us is a divine creation unique unto ourselves. I believe we should accept each other and not judge, just love. I am deeply grounded in spirituality. I am an intuitive empath. My mom always tells me I can read a person's soul easier than I can read their face.
My mom is also a highly sensitive empath. When I suffered, she suffered too. She saw how Western medicine tends to treat people with pharmaceuticals only, and I had adverse reactions to most of them. I was also traumatized by medical professionals who simply never understood the level of my fear and anxiety. This ended up harming me to the point of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). My mom began to pray and explore alternative healing modalities.
She discovered a Catholic nun who taught Reiki at her convent, which was highly unusual. She was drawn to study this and learn all she could about healing with prayer and understanding how to channel energy. The nun told her she was a natural-born healer. She was able to help me heal without going to scary doctors. To this day, my mom wants to teach medical professionals how to treat people on the spectrum, so as not to make it such a traumatic experience that a mother can't even get her child to the doctor without further trauma.
Our journey is not typical, but we hope you are helped in some way. We hope to make you laugh with the funny and heartwarming stories we share with you. It can be overwhelming, and we totally understand that. That's why we are here to help. We will share resources with you through this site, as well as on our YouTube videos and our new podcast. The one thing we all have in common is that we all want to be loved, accepted, and have a good friend.
I would always orchestrate outings, choosing a bowling alley where I would invite my small group of friends and encourage them to bring their friends. On one such occasion, a new girl came with her mom. In the middle of bowling, she walked over with me to see your mom deep in conversation and looked at me and said, 'It's good when the mothers talk.' The most powerful force in the universe are the mothers who talk! We all have our own timetable for our time on the launch pad. I want to help everyone get there as I myself work toward that day."
